The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments being given by divine inspiration are the Word of God, the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
In the Scriptures, God reveals Himself as the living and true God, Creator of all things. Perfect in love and righteous in all His ways, this one God exists eternally as a Trinity of persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God made man and woman in His image that He might have fellowship with us. Being estranged from God by our disobedience, we are, as sinful people, incapable of a right relationship to God apart from divine grace.
The only Mediator between God and all human beings is Jesus Christ our Lord, God’s eternal Son, who as man fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect obedience.
By His death in our place, Jesus revealed the divine love and upheld divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God. Having risen bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, He rules as Lord over all and intercedes for us as our great high priest.
The Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the Gospel, renews our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord. By the same Spirit we are led to trust in divine mercy, whereby we are forgiven all our sins, justified by faith through the merit of Christ our Savior, adopted into God’s family as His children and enabled so to live in the world that all people may see our good works and the Gospel of grace at work in our lives and glorify our Father who is in heaven.
God, by His Word and Spirit, calls us as sinful people into the fellowship of Christ's body. Thus, He creates the one holy, Christian, and apostolic church, united in the bonds of love, endowed with the gifts of the Spirit and summoned by Christ to preach the Gospel and to administer the sacraments, to carry on the ministry of reconciliation, and to relieve human need.
God’s redemptive purpose will be consummated by the return of Christ to raise the dead, judge all people and establish His glorious kingdom. Those who are apart from Christ shall be eternally separated from God’s presence, but the redeemed shall live and reign with Him forever.

Bob and Deb were introduced to Church on the Ranch while scanning the Internet for a group tour to the Holy Land. Family business caused us to postpone a previously scheduled trip. We found a wonderful replacement in the first Israel trip for Church on the Ranch, led by Pastor Scotty Vaughn in 2012. Joining the group for dinner at the Outback Restaurant near the Denver airport prior to the start of our journey was an instant bonding experience and we have been a part of the Church on the Ranch, one way or another, ever since. Although still living in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the time, we had a Colorado retreat in Colorado Springs that we frequented throughout the year on vacations and other ‘getaways’. We attended Church on the Ranch services whenever we were in town and met many of the folks who are our dear friends today. Our ‘partial’ status ended when we moved to the Springs in October 2016.
Bob is a native born Coloradoan and grew up in the Myron Stratton Home, leaving Colorado after high school graduation to attend Bartlesville Wesleyan College to study for the ministry. Deb comes from California. We met there while working for the same company. Now in our thirty-fifth year together, with three adult children and three grandchildren, we cherish our Church on the Ranch family and its wonderful leaders.
Deb is a certified lay minister, having done hospital and shut-in visitation for nearly thirteen years. Our passion is to reach out and touch others in need and to show the love of God to all. We also enjoy team-teaching Wednesday night adult Bible Studies as scheduled throughout the year.
Wayne and Kim Simshauser

Wayne and Kim discovered Church on the Ranch in 2011 at the Flying W Ranch while attending and helping with the 75th anniversary celebration of Western Horseman Magazine. That morning’s church service left quite an impression on us and over the next few months we thought about it a lot. In 2012 God drew us here to Church on the Ranch for the Christmas Eve service and we knew we had found what we had been looking for and that He has a purpose for us being here. The Lord has truly blessed us through our walk with Him, with this Church family and for the many wonderful friendships that have resulted. We thoroughly enjoy being a part of this church and helping out wherever we can. We are honored for this opportunity to serve on and be a part of the Church on the Ranch Board. Wayne and Kim are Colorado natives and grew up on horse and cattle ranches here in El Paso County. They’ve both shown horses since childhood, competing in team roping, barrel racing, ranch roping and ranch horse competitions. They met at a team roping and will celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary in 2016. Wayne has worked for Colorado Springs Utilities for 28 years and is an operations supervisor for gas construction and Kim is employed by Wigwam Mutual Water Company. They enjoy a western lifestyle and live midway between Colorado Springs and Pueblo, on land which has been in Kim’s family since 1945.
