OUR STORY

a perfect fit..

The Flying W Ranch, a place filled with God's grace and beauty and a cowboy following God's calling on his heart to start a church. It was 2008 when a small group of 25 or so met for the first time to sing old-time hymns along side a couple guitars and a fiddle. For a year or so, the Lord was praised each Sunday in the little weathered Chapel that Russ Wolfe built along with the help of his wrangler employees, one of which was our pastor Scotty Vaughn.

Peacefully perched in the Northeast corner of the ranch, come rain or shine, more and more folks would wonder in and listen for that old chapel bell to ring announcing that it was time for church.

and the people came..

It didn’t take long before we outgrew that little church and the time came for us to move our Sunday service into the “indoor chuckwagon” of the Flying W Ranch. Spring and Summer mornings beneath the beautiful Colorado sky were simply perfect, and Winter mornings were simply chilly! Regardless of weather, we all loved that place and we thank the Lord that he provided us with a safe and loving home where we could grow and fellowship as a church family.

God leads his dear children along..

In the summer of 2012 we lost the Flying W Ranch to the Waldo Canyon Fire which devastated parts of the Front-range and destroyed entire neighborhoods. Amongst the heartache and sorrow God's presence was made very clear and we knew that He had great plans in store for our church.

Throughout that beautiful summer our services were held in the outdoor arena on a flat-bed trailer and in the winter we moved to the indoor arena and even into the VIP lounge of Norris Penrose for a few Sundays. It was here for the first time that we discovered climate control and indoor plumbing!!

Church on the Ranch soon became “Church on the Move” and we quickly regrouped and reconnected the very next Sunday at Norris Penrose Event center. It was amazing to see how God worked in our church and in the community around us after the fire.

new beginnings..

SInce our days at the Flying W Ranch, Church on the Ranch has seen nothing but blessings apon blessings from the Lord.  Our loving church family has grown, we have a great new place to fellowship, and our outreach events have been wonderful successes!

After the winter of 2012 Church on the Ranch moved to the performing arts auditorium at Coronado High School. Good parking, seating, heating, and restrooms!  We decided we liked it! In the fall of 2015 we bought our own building where we continue our story.  Visit us at 3685 Jeannine Dr., Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In the Summer of 2013 we celbrated our 5th anniversary as a church family.  That same Summer we held our first Western Family Gathering.  It was a night filled with laughter, love and great western music by the Flying W Wranglers, the English Brothers, and our vary own Church on the Ranch Praise team!

In the Fall of 2015 we purchased, renovated and moved into our New Home at 3685 Jeannine Dr. Colorado Springs!  We are thrilled to have a permanent home where we can worship our Lord, Fellowship with others and Grow our Family!! And unlike some of our earlier homes, we are thrill to have climate control and indoor plumbing !!

Church on the Ranch was never just a quaint little chapel built by cowboys,
it was and is much more than that. It's faith, It's hope, It's love, It's family.
